Pesth is now part of Budapest. Totis is now known as Tata (German: Totis), a town in Komárom-Esztergom county, northwestern Hungary, Tata is located in the valley between the Gerecse Mountains and Vértes Mountains, some 70 km (43 mi) northwest from Budapest. The railway line from Vienna to Budapest goes directly through Tata, so that this cover likely traveled by rail.

In 1858 the railroad between Vienna and Budapest was operated by Südbahn Gesellschaft (Southern Railway Company).
